When I first became a journalist, I quickly became familiar with that phrase. At the time, I thought this simply meant telling others stories. But now as a senior in high school, and it being my fourth year in journalism; I know now that it also means the connections you form with the people you interview, and the impact you leave on your readers through storytelling. Journalism is not only about reporting the facts–it’s about truly listening, understanding stories and sharing it with the community.
